Sephora/Ulta/Target Haul!

Law school news first! I took my international law final this morning, which i FOR SURE thought i was going to bomb, but i think i did really well!

Not much to share here, this was my only VIB/Platinum purchases because i’m poor (lol). nevertheless, i got some really fun stuff!

Sephora VIB

Picked up the House of Lashes glue and some fun samples! i have been hunting for the Revlon Precision lash glue for months and have never found it, but i didn’t know the HoL was so cheap!

Ulta Platinum

Now before we go fucking bananas about the ABH modern renaissance, it’s not for me 😭 i love gifting my sister palettes because she will go ham on it and i love seeing how much use she gets out of it. so far i’ve bought her the Carli Bybel old BH palette and the Lorac Unzipped palette (which she promptly went to town on). i’ve given her a few insanely metallic or glitter color pop shadows as well. i know she’s going to die. i’m such a good sister lol.

and the philosophy animals cracker? why for mother’s day of course! my mom is obsessed with animal cracker so i hope she’ll like this.

the leaders masks were BOGO and they really do make you look flawless (temporarily).

Target

had a 20% off Soap and Glory coupon, and i’ve NEEDED a big thing of the righteous butter. it smells so freaking good. not the most hydrating lotion, but it’s good for the day time.

I also NEEDED another wet and wild Walking on Eggshells trio, as i broke my old one when i tried to depot it. i successfully depotted everything but Walking on Eggshells… perfect for every day natural looks!

lastly, these two Sonia Kashuck brushes! i’ve never owned any SK stuff, but i’ve heard Emily Noel talk about them. i picked up the Large Crease Brush and the Small Shadow Brush. i’ve noticed that i really struggle to define the outer corner of my eyes with my current brushes. i think that because the crease brush is so dense and the shadow brush looks perfect for packing shadow on the outer corner, these are really going to help!
And that’s it! i hope y’all had just of happy of a sale season as i did!

My April 2017 Sephora Play! Box is here!

After months of waiting on the email list and never signing up on time, I finally got the Sephora Play! subscription box in February. I have to say, I absolutely love this service. I think it’s so nice to be able to try out high end products in really great deluxe sizes. I also LOVE that they’re so easy to find again if I wanted to buy a full size. But honestly, favorite thing is getting to try out high end brands for the first time. Without this box, I would never have tried anything from NARS, Glamglow, Josie Maran, etc…

This month I got items from FOUR different brands I’ve never tried before: OleHenriksen, Dr. Dennis Gross, Make Up For Ever, and Juliette has a gun (which i’ve been dying to try).

I always love the info pamphlet and the bags, they make it feel really special.

Items:

  • Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Peel, 2 Pads ($88 for 16 of them, making them $5.50/peel, aka more than the box)
  • OleHenriksen Truth Serum ($48 for 30mL, so about $11 for 7mL)
  • MUFE Aqua XL Eye Pencil ($21 for the full size)
  • Juliette had a gun NOT A PERFUME (i’m so excited about this)
  • Sephora Waterproof Eye makeup remover
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (side eye)

I’m so excited for 5/6 things! The only thing I’m slightly bummed about is the Smashbox Photo whatever primer. It’s really good and smoothing, not the best for dry skin though. (and i feel like i’ve gone through 5 of these damn things because Ulta ALWAYS chucks it in there as a makeup sample. like come on).

A baby swatch of the MUFE liner, i used the lightest amount of pressure, and it’s really black!

Overall impression: super excited again. I would say if you’re not into skin care, you might not like this box because usually 50%+ of the box is skin care and not makeup. I’ve gotten a mini NARS velvet lip glide (amazing), a Bobbi Brown shadow stick, Benefits Watts Up Highlighter, but really mostly skin care.

I really, really love this box, highly recommend.
